We live in a complex world. A world in which, quite often, people can spell their names two different ways - depending on what language that spelling is coming in.

Let’s take Anastasia Myskina, for example. Chances are good you’ve directed yourself to this page because you think her name is spelled ‘Anastacia Myskina’. And to be honest, you’re not far off: the Russian spelling of her first name, after all, has a c in that place, and no s. You’d be quite right in spelling it that way, and I bet she wouldn’t bother you about it too much.

However, the western world traditionally doesn’t spell Anastasia with a c. It comes complete with an s to replace that c. In other words, if you want to search for Myskina on an English search engine, you’d do better to use Anastasia over Anastacia.

Now that that’s over, rest assured, you’ve come to the right place anyway. Navigate to the right and check out our Myskina resources.

Anastasia Myskina is an attractive lady. Nobody’s ever going to contest that, even when she’s quite a bit older and is sprouting gray hair. But part of her appeal stems not just from looks, but from the name she’s been given.

And who would contest that, either? ‘Anastasia’ is a beautiful name. Even to foreign tongues it slips past the lips with great ease and delicacy. As such its proven a popular name in quite a few countries. Here are just a few Anastasia’s to have graced the annals of history:

- Anastasia Horne, an American soap opera star.
- Saint Anastasia the Patrician, from the sixth century.
- Escrava Anastacia, a Brazilian saint of slaves.
- Anastasia Blue, a former pornographic actor.
- Anastacia Newkirk, more popularly known as Anastacia, an American pop singer.
- And even Albert Anastasia (a man, in this case), a mafia boss who died in the 1950’s.

Sure, you know about the pro tennis player. But what about the woman behind the athlete? What does Anastasia Myskina do when she’s not on the courts?

Well, she’s the mother of a baby boy, for starters. In April of 2008 Myskina gave birth to little Zhenya, her first child, born a healthy 7 pounds, 9 ounces. The baby seems to be doing well after several months.

But who’s the father? Ah, Myskina’s not revealing that much. There are a few candidates, ranging from a hockey player (Konstantin Korneev) to a fellow tennis pro (Jurgen Melzer), but Myskina won’t say who it is. Time will have to tell in this case. At the very least chances are good it’s not her current boyfriend, Alexandr Stepanov.

Russian professional women’s tennis player Anastasia Myskina is a potent player. Know for her skill as a baseline player, she’s characterized by her aggressiveness on the court and her ability to toy with her opponents, forcing them into fouls.

Does that ability to toy with others push away potential suitors, however?

Nope, doesn’t look like it. Myskina has actually been linked to her current coach, Jens Gerlach, as a former boyfriend. They’ve apparently since split however, and she’s since been linked with Russian hockey player Alexandr Stepanov and (before Stepanov) another tennis pro, Jurgen Melzer. Myskina seems to keep her cards close to her chest, however (a chest that she was engaged in a lawsuit over a few years back, though we won’t get into that here), and keeps tight-lipped about her relationships to the press.

Given how easily news about celebrities gets around these days, who’s to blame her?
